The YouProtocol is a call to action for individuals around the world.
While it is important to support initiatives like the Kyoto Protocol, which are aimed at government and industry, protecting our environment is everyone's responsibility. The Tzu Chi Foundation Canada has created the YouProtocol as a pledge each person can make towards reducing their personal environmental impact and living in harmony with the planet.
The Tzu Chi Foundation believes using less water to wash your hands is a great place to start. That's why Tzu Chi volunteers are hitting the streets of Metro Vancouver with a simple message of conservation, and will be giving out cloth hand towels to encourage people to reduce their use of paper towels when drying their hands.
Canada is a country rich with natural resources. With the Olympics coming to Vancouver in 2010, we will have a chance to show the world that we both cherish and protect those resources.
We all have an impact on the planet. At Tzu Chi, we believe big ideas start with small actions. Together, our small actions will make a big difference. Join us in signing the YouProtocol.
After all, the Planet is in Your Hands!
